DescriptionThis Act ends certain provincially-funded provisions made for the poor, including the work house in Halifax, and enacts that each town is to maintain their own poor. The processes by which each town should maintain their poor and processes for the transition from provincial to local are outlined, including how transient persons are to be removed from Halifax. This Act is to remain in force until July 1791.
