DescriptionThis act imposes a further duty of six pence per gallon of wine imported into the province in order to pay an annual pension of five hundred pounds to Sir John Wentworth, former Lieutenant-Governor, for his lifetime. The act also includes provisions for any leftover sums which may accrue from this duty, should the tax result in more than the five hundred pounds required for the specified pension.
