    This Act amends the 1762 Act, "An Act for appointing Firewards and punishing Thefts and Disorders at the Time of Fire," as amended in 1783, relating to the appointment of chimney sweepers in Halifax and the frequency with which chimnies are required to be swept in the town. Directions for the maintenance of fire engines and towards the prevention of fires are also outlined.
