DescriptionThis Act replaces the several former Acts relating to duties of excise on beer, rum, and other distilled spirituous liquors. The rate of excise is set at ten pence per gallon and penalties for those who do not pay them, as well as the processes by which this Act will be enforced are outlined. This Act is to remain in force in 1771.
