DescriptionThis is an amendment to an act first passed in 1795, which imposes a penalty of five pounds on anyone who should assist any member of the British forces in an attempt at desertion, and further penalties on anyone who tries to sell any of their gear. The amendment allows for the imprisonment of any offender who does not have enough material goods or money to cover the fine incurred for being found guilty.
