    This Act amends the 1759 Act, "An Act for regulating and maintaining an House of Correction or Work-House within the Town of Halifax, and for binding out Poor Children," and extends some of its provisions to the rest of the province. It describes how work houses are to operate and how they will be funded. The keepers' roles and manner in which they should be regulated are outlined.
