DescriptionThis Act amends and prolongs the 1765 Act, "“An Act for Granting to His Majesty an Excise on Wines, Tea, Coffee, and Playing Cards Sold within this Province." The Act sets the excise at six pence per gallon of wine, one shilling per pound of tea, two pence per pound of coffee, and one shilling per pack of cards. The exceptions to this duty and process by which it is to be collected as described under the former Act are amended.
