  • Description
    This Ordinance sets the limits of the Province's districts for the purposes of judicature, as outlined. This Ordinance also provides for the appointment of sheriffs in each district, and outlines their duties. This Ordinance repeals , the 1836 Act, “An Act to provide for the summary trial of small causes,” and the 1839 Ordinance “An Ordinance to establish Circuit Courts of Requests in the Districts of Quebec, Montreal and Three Rivers, and for other purposes.” Lists of fees associated with the justice system are included. This Ordinance is made permanent.
