  • Description
    Under this Ordinance, no news or intelligence is to be published in any Newspaper or Pamphlets until affidavits or affirmations, stating the names and places of abode of the printers or publishers of such, are delivered to the Clerk of the Peace for the District. The processes by which this is to take place and penalties for those who fail to comply with the terms of this Ordinance are outlined. This Ordinance is to remain in force until 1840.
