DescriptionThis Act repeals certain parts of “An Act for the division of the Province of Lower Canada, for amending the Judicature thereof, and for repealing certain Laws therein mentioned,” as pertains to the Provincial Judge in the district of Trois-Rivières’s appointment and duties. Under this Act, the powers, jurisdiction, authority, duty, rank and pre-eminence of the said Provincial Judge shall be vested in one of the Justices of the Court of King’s Bench for the District of Three Rivers, who is to be called the resident Judge of the District of Three Rivers.
