  • Description
Under this Act, an Act passed in 1823 “An Act to provide further regulations concerning the Inspection and packing of Beef and Pork, intended for exportation,” and sections of an Act from 1804 “An Act to regulate the curing, packing and inspection of Beef and Pork, to be exported from the Province of Lower-Canada,” are repealed and replaced. This Act implements further restrictions on the packaging or beef and port to be exported or shipped for exportation in addition to those specified in enforced sections of the 1804 Act. The Act specifies the types of salt to be used for packing beef and pork, among other regulations such as how beef and pork are to be graded. Inspectors of Beef and Pork are authorized to open warehouses in either Quebec or Montreal. This Act is set to expire in 1828.
