DescriptionThis Act repeals and replaces the 1818 Act, “An Act or Ordinance to prevent persons practising Physic and Surgery within the Province of Quebec, or Midwifery in the Towns of Quebec and Montreal, without Licence.” This Act outlines how licenses to practice as a Physician, Surgeon, male Midwife, apothecary or druggist can be obtained and certain regulations pertaining to the practice and teaching of medicine in the province. This Act does not pertain to female midwives. This Act is to remain in force until 1837.
