    This Act, passed in December 1830, stipulates that the "patents, commissions, warrants [and] other authorities" in force at the time of King George IV's death in June 1830, as pertaining to posts of employment in British territories abroad, remain in effect until new such patents shall be passed by the new monarch, King William IV.
