  • Description
    Under this Act, all main channels or waterways are to be left open to allow salmon to reach their spawning places. This Act outlaws the use of fishing weirs, or other fishing tackle including among Indigenous peoples. Several measures are put in place, including regulations on the shipment of fish, in order to preserve the fishing industry. This Act is to remain in force until 1833.
