DescriptionIn order to protect the public from bank notes being issues by banks who are not solvent, this act makes it illegal for banks to issue bank notes or currency of any sort, including mortgages, without being first certified by the legislature. Anybody found guilty of violating this act will be guilty of a misdemeanour.
