An Act to prevent the operation within this Province of an Act of Parliament made in England, in the Twenty-first year of the Reign of King James the First, entitled “An Act to prevent the destroying and, murthering of Bastard Children,” and to make other provisions for the prevention and punishment of Infanticide.     This Act removes Upper Canada from the jurisdiction of a British law concerning the murdering of children born out of wedlock, and stipulates that such murder be tried as any other murder would be. It also identifies the punishment for hiding the corpse of an infant so as to deny its birth.
