  • Description
This act changes the responsibilities of Grand River Navigation Company, which, since their incorporation, controls the navigation of Grand River. A modification to their act in 1841 assures that a certain percentage of their board of directors represents local indigenous people, whereas the current change responds to petitions made by the local public for more provincial control over the river. Rules are put in place for the transfer of river navigation from the corporation to the province.
