    This act allows for the building of canals to connect the Ottawa river to the great lakes in order to promote trade, agriculture, and to facilitate the transportation of naval and military stores. It specifies the goods to be allocated, who shall be responsible for supervising the building and allocation of goods, and the appropriation of lands necessary for the project.
