  • Description
    This act allows for the financing of the Welland Canal Company so that they can build a canal which can be navigated by ships and boats as large as schooners. It specifies the dimensions of the locks, sets a limit on the capital stock of the company, and provides for the possible appropriation of the canals by the provincial government.
