DescriptionAn Act to amend the second clause of an Act from 1818 “An Act to establish a House of Industry in the City of Montreal.” This original Act was passed to aid with the construction of an House of Industry for the poor on the lots left for that purpose by John Conrad Marsteller and outlined processes by which this House of Industry was to be realized, including how Wardens will be appointed and their duties. By this Act, the number of Wardens to be appointed from four to eight, under terms of two years.
