    This act changes the name of the Montreal Fire Assurance company to the The Montreal Fire Life and Inland Navigation Assurance Company. It also grants them the authority to hold more property of greater value as a corporate body, and to grant policies to vessels sailing the St Lawrence river. Regulations are specified concerning these policies, and clause 7 states the entirety of the act is to be public rather than private.
