DescriptionThis act allows the receiver general to raise by loan from corporate or private bodies, or by debenture, nine thousand pounds for the building of a harbour in Whitby. The manner of issuing and management of debentures is specified. The act allows for the appointment of three commissioners who will survey the best locations and hire the appropriate contractors to pursue the work. The act also permits tolls once the works are completed.
