  • Description
    This act permits the Governor or Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada to commute the sentence of anybody who has been sentenced to death for any crime except murder or high treason. It lists the crimes which are included under this act, and further specifies that the court of Quarter Sessions, and other court of similar jurisdiction, cannot imprison someone for more than two years.
