An Act to Continue for a limited time an Act passed in the Second Year of His Majesty’s Reign, entitled, “An Act to make Provision for the Improvement of the Internal Navigation of this Province, as amended by an Act passed in the Third Year of His Majesty’s Reign, entitled, ‘An Act to Amend and Extend the Provisions of an Act passed in the Second Year of His Majesty’s Reign, entitled, ‘An Act to make Provision for the Improvement of the Internal Navigation of this Province, (except so much thereof as is thereby repealed,) and to grant a further sum of money for such Improvement.’ ” Passed Jan. 19th, 1824.

DescriptionThis act continues an act passed in 1822 which made plans to survey the potential routes for a canal system running from Lake Erie to the eastern border of Upper Canada. It grants a further sum of one thousand pounds, and calls for a survey to be done in Presqu'ile Harbour and at the head of the bay of Quinte in order to connect the two by a navigable canal.
