An Act to regulate Line Fences and Water Courses, and to repeal so much of an Act passed in the thirty-third year of the Reign of His late Majesty King George the Third, entitled “An Act to provide for thenomination andappointmentof Parish and Town Officers within this Province,” as relates to the office of Fence Viewers being discharged by Overseers of Highways and Roads. DescriptionAn amendment of an act first passed in 1793, specifying the parties responsible for the repairing and maintenance of fences on shared property lines. In the case of fences which divide townships, repairs and costs will be determined by fence viewers. The act specifies the responsibilities of these fence viewers, what responsibilities they have, how they are to determine costs, who is to appoint them and when they are to be appointed, and the sum they are to be paid.
