DescriptionThis Act stipulates that henceforward, fines collected for criminal offences and intended to support poor citizens of Upper Canada are to be paid to the District Treasurer where the conviction occurred. Further, the funds collected in such manner are to be used for the benefit of that particular District, just as taxes would be.
