An Act to authorise the construction of a Mill Dam across the River Thames. Passed 10th February, 1840. 3 Victoria – Chapter 40 1840 This act permits the construction of a mill dam across the river Thames, so long as it includes the construction of locks to permit the passage of vessels. The act also includes a clause forbidding the complete barricade of the river for more than twenty days, under threat of withdrawal of the permit to construct and operate the dam. An Act for dividing the Township of Hallowell, in the District of Prince Edward. Passed 10th February, 1840. 3 Victoria – Chapter 39 1840 This act divides the township of Hallowell into two towns, specifying where the division will be.
